This was a big decision for me to make, but not a hard one because I know the need for strong voices in Annapolis. When two of our current three delegates decided to seek different offices, the decision was made for me, because I know I have the abilities and experience to fill one of those roles.
I am running for a few reasons. The first reason is my experience of being a mayor in one of the municipalities in Frederick County and having experienced firsthand how times we are overlooked by our elected officials. I want to be that voice for all in Annapolis and be there to support all the municipalities in my district.
Second, I am running for our Maryland retirees who cannot afford to retire here due to the high taxes. Maryland has recently been ranked by some reports as the 50th worst state to retire in. That is unacceptable and must change. I will fight to lower these taxes.
Third “I see our God given and constitutional rights eroding away more and more every day. I want to be a strong loud voice that keeps fighting for the rights of all and to keep Maryland the free state”.
Fourth I am a supporter of our law enforcement and will do everything in my power to keep them from being defunded. It is a proven fact that cities and states that have defunded their law enforcement agencies have experienced a spike in violent crime.
Fifth but certainly not last is parents’ rights to school choice and to have a say in what their children are being taught in our schools. These are just a few of the items I would like to see change happen.

More Issues
The work of our first responders and law enforcers is critically important to our safety and welfare. I fully support them and will work to provide them the resources they need to protect Marylanders. Defunding them is as wrongheaded as it gets.
The taxes in Maryland that were raised so much under Governor O’Malley has been a disaster for the state of Maryland. As a legislator in Annapolis, I will fight to roll these back putting more money in each of your pockets where it belongs.
Supports Education and School Choice – Families deserve to have the freedom to choose the educational environment that serves their children best. They should have that choice regardless of financial ability or their home address.
Making Maryland a better place for Retirees- Maryland was recently ranked #50 out of 50 states to retire in. That is unacceptable to me. Children should not have to grow up without their grandparents nearby, because they cannot afford to retire and live in the state that they have spent their entire lives working, living, and raising a family in.
Our veterans and their families are often overlooked. I am the grandson of 2 American veterans. One grandfather served in Vietnam, and one was stationed for many years in South Korea. The welfare of our veterans is near and dear to me. The men and women, who have put their lives on the line for us, should have more resources available when they return home or leave the service.
Coming from a family of beef and dairy farmers I know firsthand how hard these men and women work to feed America. I also know that it is not always a lucrative profession. When the Government continues to overregulate them it not only affects them, but it affects the public on the prices that must be paid.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. The laws in Maryland restricting our 2nd Amendment rights are some of the most restrictive in the country. I will fight to protect our rights.
I believe in limited government as required by our federal and state constitutions. The federal government, the states, and local governments often overreached their limited, legitimate powers during the pandemic, and they continue to do so now. Marylanders deserve the free exercise of their many and broad rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.
